Announcements

10th December 2024

30th November 2024

  • Due to some technical issues at our end, the national and regional certificates are not yet available for download. Please expect a suitable announcement by 10th December.

13th November 2024
The cutoffs for IOQM certificates can be now found here. Note that:

  • The certificates will be available for download at https://ioqm.manageexam.com/ by this month (November) end. Please wait for a suitable announcement
  • A candidate may get a national certificate, or a regional certificate, or both, or none. This is as per the criteria announced earlier (see announcement dated 12th October below).
  • There are no certificates awarded by MTA for mere participation in RMO. Therefore a few candidates who were eligible to participate in RMO’2024 are not eligible for IOQM certificates this year.
  • The cutoffs have been determined after removing the candidates who wrote from the “probationary centres” from the list of participants (see announcement dated 20th October below). The candidates who wrote the exam from a probationary centre will be able to download certificates only against a self-declaration stating that they have not indulged in any malpractice. More details regarding the self-declaration will be made available once the certificates become available for download.

21st October 2024

  • The new cutoffs can be found here..
  • The new list of students selected and probationary students who are provisionally selected to RMO can be found on https://ioqm.manageexam.com/ (to be updated soon).
  • Note that the cutoffs for national certificates and regional certificates were never announced and will be announced at a later date.

20th October 2024

Update regarding alleged malpractices: As announced earlier, MTA(I) received several complaints regarding the IOQM exam, including flagging of unlikely patterns in the roll numbers of selected students. MTA(I) has carried out a detailed analysis of the score data in order to investigate if any centres have indulged in malpractice. Multiple criteria that might indicate such malpractice were identified, since any one criterion may not be sufficient to rule out chance occurrences. After analysing the data and triangulating on the basis of the criteria identified, MTA(I) has placed a total of six centres in different regions in a “probationary” category. These centres are liable to be blacklisted for the future.

The students who appeared for the IOQM exam from “probationary” exam centres have been removed from the overall list of students who appeared for the exam and the cut-offs have been revised to admit additional students to meet the region-wise and category-wise quotas. This has led to revised lower cut-offs for some regions. A final list of students eligible for RMO based on the revised cut-offs is being prepared and will be announced shortly.

The students who appeared for the IOQM exam in the “probationary” centres and are above the respective regional cut-offs for the RMO exam are placed in a separate “probationary” list. These students will be provisionally allowed to write the RMO exam in their respective regions. However, they are liable to being disqualified from the Olympiads and further penalties if subsequent investigations reveal misconduct on their part.

  • The revised cutoffs will be announced by tomorrow.
  • The revised list of students selected along with probationary list of students will be posted on https://ioqm.manageexam.com/ by tomorrow.

18th October 2024

[Update] MTA(I) has received several fresh complaints pertaining to IOQM including flagging of unlikely patterns in the roll numbers of selected students. To maintain the integrity of the examination process, MTA(I) is currently reviewing all available information and analysing the data we have. Expect a detailed update and final report by Sunday, 20th October. Till then RMO cutoffs and consequent selection list should be considered provisional. The update can be found above.

16th October 2024

  • Final list of RMO awardees is now up. In the earlier list several eligible students were accidentally left off and had a couple of minor typos. The list is available on https://ioqm.manageexam.com/ as before. Note that the cutoffs remain the same.

15th October 2024

  • Delhi and OCI cutoffs are being reduced by one. They were wrongly published due to an error on our side and the error is regretted. The updated file is available at the same link.
  • List of students selected will be available on https://ioqm.manageexam.com/ by today evening. We thank you for your patience.

14th October 2024

  • Cutoffs for qualification to RMO 2024 are now available here.
Clarification: For OCI students who are studying in India, the region is not easily determined from their roll number. They should wait for the list of selected students to be uploaded (i.e. on 15-10-2024).
  • We will announce the list of qualified students tomorrow.
  • Cutoffs for IOQM certificates will be uploaded soon.

12th October 2024

  • Certificate Criterion for IOQM 2024 has been announced: see here.
Note: Criterion for qualification from IOQM 24 to RMO 24 is laid out by HBCSE and can be found here.

9th October 2024

  • IOQM provisional scores are available. You need to login with your details on https://ioqm.manageexam.com/ as before.
  • Challenges will be accepted till 10th October 6pm.
Note: The details were also individually communicated through email/sms earlier today.

19th September 2024

  • A total of 736 challenges to the provisional key were received. After looking into each of them, the committee has decided not to accept any challenge and the provisional key will be considered as the final key. A response to few important/common challenges is being provided below:
    1. (Problem 8): The interpretation that the number can be negative is unreasonable in the context of the phrasing of the problem and does not lead to alternative valid solutions.
    2. (Problem 9): Even though m, n are not specified to be integers, any alternative reasonable reading of the phrase does not lead to finitely many answers and therefore cannot cause any confusion.
    3. (Problem 9): Even though “pair” is not prefaced with “unordered” as is intended in the problem, the set theory notation “{…}” makes it amply clear that indeed we are considering unordered pairs here.
    4. (Problem 21): The error of “Integer” being typed as “Intenger” cannot lead to any sensible confusion.

8th September 2024

  • Exam was conducted today. Please find the question paper and provisional key attached.
  • Any challenge to provisional key should be raised through this form before 11th September:
